Rather than ask ECMS students and families to sell items to support our school, ECMS PTA is rolling out a direct fundraiser, Invest in Tomorrow’s Leaders. There are many benefits to direct fund raising, including keeping 100% of the donations at East Cary Middle, as well as a tax deduction benefit for donors.
Why do we fund raise every year? Our PTA depends on its members to be the financial and volunteer backbone to the incredible education our students receive at ECMS. This money goes towards updating school technology, supporting our STEM curriculum, student supplies, study guided field trips, PE equipment, student clubs, and so much more.
For 2013-2014, North Carolina ranked 47th in the nation in per-student spending on K–12 public schools. In the same year, Wake County ranked 99th out of the state’s 115 school districts in total funds for per-pupil expenditure, according to the State Department of Public Instruction. With this limited funding, it is vital to give so our children at East Cary Middle School don’t miss out on quality programs and support.
We understand that everyone’s circumstances are different. Our goal is to raise $55 per child, which is just $0.30 per school day. If $55 is too much, give what you can. Larger gifts and matching company contributions are appreciated. Every contribution counts and the amount you donate is up to you. 100% of the funds raised through Invest in Tomorrow’s Leaders go directly to ECMS. All donations are fully tax deductible.
Donate online or fill out a pledge card and return to school with your donation. Students will only be able to submit donations during homeroom.
If you haven’t already, please consider joining the PTA or volunteering. Check this site for ways to help.
